Barry Kahan was owner and President of Kay & Sons, LLC, a Total Light Management company pioneering energy reduction through the intelligent control of natural and artificial light.
Today, Barry’s main focus is growing RISHON Global as an incubator for innovative spiritual and cultural start-ups around the world. These start-ups create strong communities of young Jewish adults with a common goal of discovering their Judaism through helping others.
With the creation of RISHON, RISHON Live, and the RISHON Network, people everywhere can now uniquely discover how this generation thinks, and how they perceive their Jewish identity- both today and into the future.
A few of Barry’s other philanthropic involvements have included the Executive Board of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), the Board of Chasdei Eliyahu (local assistance to the Jewish needy), Acharai Giving Circle (in support of Israel’s social needs), the Advisory Board of The Satell Institute for Corporate Social Responsibility, and Co-Founder of the MAG Fund.
Barry is a graduate of Dickinson College and lives in Philadelphia, PA. He and his wife, Susan, have a daughter Arin and a son Andrew.
